    Position Description:

     

    The Financial Analyst will report to Gibraltar's Director of Finance, with responsibility for financial modeling, evaluating and investigating new investment opportunities, maintaining Gibraltar's historical and projected asset and portfolio level cash flows, and assisting with institutional investor inquiries and reporting.

     

    Opportunity:

     

    • Gain valuable experience in real estate acquisitions, joint ventures, loan originations, corporate finance, and capital markets
    • Engage in complex cash flow modeling of joint venture, loan, direct acquisition and land banking investment opportunities, industry and market research, and investor relations
    • Participate in large, high-profile transactions with direct access and exposure to senior-level executives at Gibraltar and its institutional partners, as well as within the real estate community, banks, hedge/private equity funds, and Wall Street

    Responsibilities:

    • Support Gibraltar's pursuit of investment and loan origination opportunities by engaging in sophisticated financial modeling, due diligence, and preparation of investment memos and presentations
    • Develop and maintain financial models for use in underwriting potential investments, and tracking existing portfolio holdings
    • Interact with, and prepare reporting for, Gibraltar's investment partners
    • Manage cash flow projections and performance metrics for Gibraltar's portfolios and joint ventures
    • Work with accounting personnel in connection with carrying out quarter-end processes, and preparation of GAAP financial statements
    • Perform comprehensive real estate, economic, demographic, and capital markets research

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • A bachelor's degree in finance or a business-related field; recent/upcoming graduates with relevant internship experience will be considered
    • Up to three years of experience in real estate investment banking, principal investment, corporate finance or commercial banking, with a focus on real estate analysis, valuation, due diligence, capital markets, and research
    • Financial modeling skills with high aptitude in Microsoft Excel is required; proficiency in discounted cash flows is a must
    • Basic understanding of, and exposure to, GAAP accounting
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Goal-oriented and highly motivated
